Urban Farm-stand

In Scarborough's infamous building codes, there is a relatively new code describing the limits on the size of a suburban farm-stand. Out in the Rural Farm Zone of town our Dooryard Farm-Stand is palatial.

Although sometimes Stacy fills up the empty space with her wedding flower jobs.

The new space in the corner of Aurora Provisions is small, but it is all we need.
Oops no, not that.... that's Sam's Club. (great price though)
That's it...
Really just a toe-hold in the city. Sort of like how this blog is just a hint of what Broadturn Farm is all about.
The Urban Farm-Stand has some vegetables, some flowers, some bouquets... but we are honestly not sure what actually will become of it.
The toe-hold that leads upwards, no doubt, but we have never been there so, we will have to just see...
We hope the space evokes the farm behind the barn-board: Thanks to the steadfast work of friends who make this possible:
Leslie: Meal Maker
Marika: Provision Proprietor
Jon Courtney: Life Curator and builder extraordinaire
And many more along the way.

This week's harvest is

  • Raab
  • Turnips
  • a taste of Broccoli
  • Rhubarb
  • Chives
  • Kale
  • Basil Seedling
  • and some Pea Tendrils if you're into that sort of thing.
Its still a cold spring and some stuff is ready, but others are not maturing as fast as we planned... spinach, lettuce... But despite this rain at the time of writing, we will be warming up soon and the abundance will flow.
Blessings on the Meal,
John
