John and I are frantically trying to tie up loose ends so we can take our second annual summer vacation. All summer, I look forward to these 5 days off. The return from vacation will be met with a series of manic weeks. But, why worry about that now when I have 5 days of no alarms ahead of me? The only thing to decide on each day is when to take a swim and which card game to play.
So, hold your calls and emails because unless it is an emergency, we probably won't reply. The farm will be in great hands with our able crew. We love them and are so grateful for their consistent, thoughtful nature and hard work.
So...off to finish the harvest and pack for an island adventure. My greatest pre-trip stress is packing food. What does one do without a walk-in cooler full of produce, a freezer full of meat and a milk cow on hand? I do recognize that as "a white lady problem".
As long as the full moon rises and I see it on the ocean tonight....I'll happily pick mussels for dinner each day at low tide.
