Irene blows bye

Batten down the hatches! Hurricane coming!
Front door...
Back door...
Side door...
oops, should have done the whole side, not just the door.
everyone safe and sound inside...
while the wind rages...

some definite destruction:

There's the squash, but where are the plants?
... but how does this happen after such a weekend?!
 The distribution includes:
Lettuce, Radishes, Parsley, Onions (shallots for most), Spaghetti Squash, Tomatoes, Potatoes, Carrots, Beets, and Beans
Lots of tomatoes got knocked off the vines, but we'll harvest what we have left until there are no more. The carrots and potatoes were safe underground!
Blessings on the meal.
p.s. On September 8th, Broadturn Farm will be inducted into the Maine Farmland Trust program "Forever Farms." Come by to help us celebrate. There will be food, drink and music. See the program website for more info.
