I must admit that in the winter, when the darkness forces more time by the wood stove, I lurk around crafting and design blogs. It feeds the voyeur in me and offers a touch of inspiration from time to time. Seeing the 'other side' of the photo doesn't have the same effect of making me utterly depressed in the same way looking through the Pottery Barn catalog or an issue of Martha Stewart Living does.
One trend I have noticed, depending on the take of the blog, is the before and after series. Sometimes its a full renovation, sometimes its a thrifted piece of furniture with a new paint job. At any rate, this phenomenon of displaying one's untidy mess and then publicly sharing the result of time spent organizing and cleaning up came to mind when I was writing the last entry while also working to get our greenhouse space ready for spring seeding.
So....in the spirit of all those before and after's out there in the blogosphere....here is Broadturn Farm's best attempt:
BEFORE
DURING
AFTER
Our next big business development is the building of a new seed starting greenhouse. We are open to ideas and suggestions. Here's what we want....to use as little fossil fuel as possible and have good drainage. Here's what we don't want...to get out of bed in the middle of the night to load the wood stove in the greenhouse. And, to top it off, it needs to be built for a song. Any ideas?
Blessings on the meal-
Stacy
