This week's harvest:
Onions
Potatoes
Beets
Carrots
Baby Blue Hubbard Squash
Butternut Squash
Garlic
Chard
Broccoli Raab
Spinach
Lettuce
Parsley
Dill
Cilantro
Green Tomatoes .....complete with a Recipe for fried green tomatoes ! This was strongly recommended by a couple of visitors from the Cooperative extension service in Kentucky who toured the farm as a part of a national conference of Cooperative extension employees. I like cooperative extension as much as I like the library!!! A fantastic service that deserves funding and recognition for all the benefits they bring to a community.
This week at the farm has been all about theater. Emma has been hard at work rehearsing for her role as Belle (aka Beauty) in the Children's Theater of Maine's performance of Beauty and the Beast. If you are in need of a bit of thespian activity, please consider attending a performance. The show runs this weekend and next. It is performed by children. Click here for more information.
We have one more week left of vegetable distributions.
We'll be back later in the week with more photos, something creative and newsy for your reading enjoyment. Please forgive our short winded words this week and stay tuned!!!
Blessings on the meal-
Stacy and John
Looking forward to your next post! Keep up the good work...hope your next harvest would be bountiful. essay
